2. Types of Information Collected and Their Purpose and Use

We may collect the following types of personal information:

Usage Information: To optimize your experience, we may record how, when, and how frequently you use this software, including the usage time, learning progress, and exercise completion status of each learning module (speaking, listening, English ABCs, phonics, AI teacher, etc.).

Recordings and Audio Data: To provide core services such as spoken language learning, spoken language assessment, dialogue translation, and AI teacher voice interaction, we need to obtain the audio data you record using your microphone. This recording data will be uploaded to the server for speech recognition, spoken language scoring, and translation processing.

Translation content: To provide accurate translation results such as dialogue translation and photo translation, we may obtain the text you input, voice, translation results, and text content from photos.

Image Information: To provide the photo translation function, we need to obtain the pictures you take with your camera or select from your album in order to recognize the text in the pictures and translate it.

Learning Records: To record your learning journey, generate learning reports, and display your learning progress, we will collect your learning data, including practice scores, accuracy rate, weak knowledge points, check-in records, and study time.

Log information: To ensure software stability, we may record the date and time of use, including usage time, operation records, and information when the software crashes.

Obtain clipboard information: In services such as translation, text input, and copying learning content, we may call the device's clipboard information to quickly display and paste the translation results or learning text you need.

Location information: We may obtain location information to search for nearby Bluetooth devices only when connecting Bluetooth devices (such as Bluetooth headsets, Bluetooth learning pens, etc.) to improve connection speed and user experience.

Precise location information: When you use location-based features (such as localized learning resource recommendations, region-specific features), we may obtain your precise location information through GPS or network signals to provide a more accurate service experience.

Device identification information: This includes unique device identifiers such as the Android ID. It will only be used for the following purposes:
① Anonymous crash analysis and performance optimization using third-party tools (such as Tencent Bugly), with data retention not exceeding 30 days.
② We will not use it for user profiling or associate it with other data.
③ Unique device identifiers (Android ID, etc.), device model, operating system version, and crash logs.
④ To ensure service stability, we may collect unique device identifiers through third-party tools (such as Tencent Bugly). This information will only be used for anonymization analysis and performance optimization and will not be linked to your personal identity.

Device hardware and software information: including but not limited to device brand (e.g., Xiaomi), device model (e.g., M2101K9C), manufacturer, system region setting, system version, screen resolution, network type, etc. This information is collected for:
① Functional adaptation: optimizing interface display, interaction logic, and functional compatibility based on different device models and system characteristics;
② Problem diagnosis and repair: accurately locating and repairing abnormal behaviors or crashes occurring on specific models;
③ User experience improvement: analyzing device distribution and optimizing resource allocation and service support strategies.

Bluetooth device connectivity: When connecting Bluetooth devices, we may obtain rough location information (such as via Wi-Fi or mobile networks) to search for nearby Bluetooth devices and improve connection efficiency.

Software installation list: We may access the software installation list of a device to facilitate the sharing of translated text/learning results/invitation links.

Bluetooth Information: If you allow this software to access Bluetooth functionality, we may collect information about your Bluetooth devices to provide better services and features.

Sensor List: We may collect sensor data from your device, including but not limited to:
① Bluetooth Low Energy devices
② Bluetooth headsets
③ Accelerometer: used to detect device orientation and motion (such as switching between portrait and landscape modes) to optimize application interface display and user experience.

1.1 Purpose, Method, and Scope of Sensor Information

Purpose: We collect sensor information to provide an enhanced user experience and functionality, such as:
① Real-time monitoring
② Data analysis
③ Personalized services
④ Optimized interface adaptation: Adjusting the application interface layout according to device orientation (e.g., portrait or landscape).
Method: Sensor information is collected automatically through the sensors on your device; you do not need to manually input it.
Scope: We only collect sensor data relevant to the functions of this software and do not collect unnecessary sensor information. For example, accelerometer data is only used to detect the device's physical orientation and motion state and will not be used to continuously track your fine movements.

1.2 Data Usage

Provides core services: Processes your input text, voice, recordings, and image data via API and returns processing results (such as oral score, translation results, listening practice feedback, AI teacher responses, etc.).
Optimizes service performance: Analyzes data to improve speech recognition algorithms, translation quality, oral assessment accuracy, and user experience.
Troubleshooting: Used to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

1. Access Permissions

The application may require the following access permissions:

① Microphone Permission: Allows the program to use the microphone for recording, used for core functions such as oral language learning, oral language assessment, dialogue translation, and AI teacher voice interaction.
② Storage Permission: Allows the program to read and write to storage space to save recording files, learning records, translation records, and other data.
③ Camera Permission: Allows the program to use the camera function for photo translation scenarios.
④ Photo Album Permission: The application needs to access the photo album to allow users to select and upload images for photo translation.
⑤ Precise Location Permission: Allows the application to obtain your precise geographical location via GPS or network signals for providing location-based learning resource recommendations and Bluetooth device search. This permission is only enabled when you actively use the relevant functions.
⑥ Bluetooth Permission: Used to connect external hardware such as Bluetooth headsets and Bluetooth learning pens to support functions such as listening practice and oral language learning.

1. App Integration with Third-Party SDK Catalog

To ensure the implementation and secure and stable operation of the Yi Spoken-related functions, we may integrate third-party software development kits (SDKs) for related purposes. We will conduct rigorous security monitoring on the software development kits (SDKs) used by our partners to obtain information, in order to protect data security.

Third-party name: Alipay App Client SDK (com.alipay.sdk)
Purpose of use: For Alipay payments, membership purchases, etc.
Function type: Payment processing.
Personal information involved: Payment information, user identifier.

Third-party name: WeChat OpenSDK Android (com.tencent.mm.opensdk)
Purpose of use: To provide users with WeChat Pay functionality.
Function type: Payment processing.
Personal information involved: Payment information, user identifier.

Third-party name: Bugly SDK (com.tencent.bugly)
Purpose of use: For application crash reporting, performance monitoring, and device compatibility analysis.

1. Information Use

We collect your personal information in order to provide, maintain, and improve our English learning services. We may use your personal information for the following purposes:

We offer spoken language learning services, including voice recording, spoken language assessment, pronunciation correction, and dialogue practice.
We provide translation services, including language recognition and translation of text, audio, and text in images.
We offer learning content services such as English listening, English ABCs, and phonics, recording learning progress and grades.
We offer AI teacher services, including intelligent Q&A, learning tutoring, content summaries, and personalized learning suggestions.
We maintain and improve our software services, such as detecting and resolving technical issues.
Location-based service optimization: Utilizing precise location information to optimize the localization of learning resources.
We do not permanently store your input text and audio data; they are only used for real-time processing or historical queries (except for data you can actively save). You have the right to access, modify, or delete the data we collect from you.
Service stability monitoring: We collect device identification information (Android ID) through third-party SDKs (such as Tencent Bugly) to diagnose crash causes and optimize application performance, and this information will not be used for user profiling or association with other data.
We analyze usage to improve our software services and provide a better user experience.
We contact you, for example, to send service announcements, technical updates, or marketing materials.

1. Information Sharing

We will not sell, rent, or lend your personal information to any third party. We may share your personal information with the following types of third parties:

① Service Providers: We may collaborate with third parties to provide services such as English learning, speech recognition, translation, and AI dialogue. These third parties may access your personal information.
② Legal Requirements: We may disclose your personal information as required by law or government regulations.
③ Security Safeguards: We may share your personal information with third parties as required by law or due to technical necessity to protect our rights, property, or safety.
④ Data Sharing and Transmission: Your recorded audio data, voice data, text content, and image content will be transmitted via API to the servers of third-party service providers for speech recognition, spoken language assessment, transcription, translation, and AI processing.

1. Instructions for Auto-Start or Associated Startup

Push Notifications:
To ensure this application can receive push notifications from clients even when it's closed or running in the background, it must use the (auto-start) capability. This involves a certain frequency of system broadcasts to wake up the application and trigger related startup events, necessary for functionality and service implementation. When you open a content-based push notification, you will be redirected to that content with your explicit consent. Without your consent, there will be no related startup.
Download Notifications:
When you download files within this app (e.g., in-app version update notifications, learning resource pack downloads), the app handles HTTP connections based on download status and monitors connection status changes and system restarts to ensure each download task completes successfully. This is especially important when users switch to different apps and downloads need to continue in the background (which may involve background process auto-start), and when a download task is successfully completed, the app retrieves the APK file for installation.

1. Information Protection

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Our measures include the use of encryption, access control, and authentication.
Data transmission uses TLS 1.3+ encryption.
Performance monitoring and troubleshooting: To ensure service stability, we may collect anonymized device information and crash logs through third-party tools (such as Tencent Bugly). This data is used only for technical analysis and is not linked to your personal identity.
Audio recording processing: Your audio recordings will be encrypted when uploaded to the cloud for oral assessment and transcription; after processing, the original audio data will be processed in accordance with our data retention policy. Your actively saved learning and translation records are stored in your account, and you can view, export, or delete them at any time.

8. Account Cancellation

We respect your control over your account. If you decide to discontinue using the Yi Spoken service and wish to delete your account and related personal information (except as required by laws and regulations), you can cancel your account in the following ways: Cancellation Method

You can cancel your account within the Yi Spoken APP. Please go to "My" → "Account" → "Cancel Account" to proceed.
If you encounter any difficulties during the cancellation process, you can also contact us for assistance through the customer service email address provided at the end of this policy.
Identity Verification:
To ensure your account security and prevent unauthorized operations, we may need to verify your identity before canceling your account (for example, requiring you to enter the verification code received on your registered mobile phone number, your login password, or other security verifications).
Processing Time:
After you submit your cancellation application and pass the identity verification, we will complete the cancellation process within 1 business day. After processing, your account may be temporarily inaccessible, and the personal information bound to the account (except as otherwise required by laws and regulations or as we have a legitimate reason to retain) will be deleted or anonymized.
Consequences of Cancellation: Account cancellation is an irreversible operation. Once cancellation is successful:
① You will no longer be able to use this account to log in to the Yi Spoken APP.
② All service data, historical records, and personal information (such as avatar, nickname, and linked third-party account information, except for those required to be retained by laws and regulations) under this account will be deleted.
③ You may not be able to retrieve any content or information under this account (including saved audio files, learning records, translation records, etc.).
④ Your membership benefits, points, coupons, etc. under this account will also be deleted and cannot be recovered.
⑤ After account cancellation, you may need to re-register to use our services again.
Exception:
According to relevant laws and regulations, or in necessary circumstances such as handling disputes or cooperating with regulatory investigations, we may need to retain some of your personal information (such as transaction records, log information, etc.) for a period of time. Such information will be stored and used in accordance with legal requirements and will be deleted or anonymized after the statutory retention period expires.

1. Other Terms and Conditions

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect our practices and services. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to understand how we protect your personal information.
User Controls: You can disable microphone, location, storage, and other permissions at any time in your device settings, but some core functions may be restricted or unavailable.

We and the relevant third-party SDKs will only begin collecting and using your personal information after you click "Agree" or check the corresponding options. No personal information (including but not limited to device information, location information, microphone recording data, etc.) will be collected before you explicitly consent.
